Amazon Lightsail

If you've stopped by this site, you may have noticed it was down for the last month.  My big changes that were coming soon was that I decided to test out Amazon Lightsail and Wordpress for this blog. I am a huge fan of AWS, and their Lightsail product is perfect for what I want to do.  I'm not a huge fan of Wordpress though, so I decided not to keep the site up on Wordpress.  I am going to put another domain over there for testing web apps, if you can find it. :)

Amazon Echo Dot

I picked up an echo dot on sale last month, and it is awesome! I was able to tie Apple Music to the device so I could enjoy music at my leisure. I have been able to do games, like rock, scissors, and paper with Amazon. The best part of the entire thing was the free Amazon smart plug.  It really has opened my eyes to the convenience of a smart home.  At first I thought I was going to hate the plug, but for free I wasn't going to turn that down. I plugged it into my living room lamp, and it has quickly become a staple in my house.  Even my kids ask Alexa to turn on or off the light.  The Amazon Echo dot has been great for playing music, reading books to the kids, and just all around fun. I know it's been a while since I posted, but I am working on some new material.  I will also be updating the site with a more modern look and feel. So please stay tuned, as March of 2019 will be a good start!
